It's a shame that they can't foster them out and have them rehabilitated first, then adopted out. A well meaning person may come and adopt with all good intentions but these dogs are going to be way over the common person's head. Puppymill dogs are like no other dog you'll have and it takes a lot of experience and time - sometimes years to bring them around. AND, the biggest shame of all is that this piece of sh.. gets away with it. His/Her not being able to breed is not enough punishment. I do understand though that sometimes this has to be done just to get the dogs signed over. If not then it can take years to shut them down.

You are so right I know from talking to the Lady there at NHS they will Make sure that the dogs will be going to God homes and the people who get them will be well educated on the way that they need to take care of the physical and mental issues as well as medical. the 1/2 price I was told is on the dogs that were already at the shelter when the rescues came in. I know it is not the best way but hopefully They will find the best forever homes.
