Yeah most seem to be breeding in the late summer here! Which works out for me since I want a Yorkie in December/January!
Anyway, the questions I asked the breeders I talked to were these:
Quote:
- Do you require that all puppies you sell for companionship be spayed/neutered?
- Are your dogs AKC registered?
- If they are AKC registered, are there AKC Champions listed on the pedigree?
- Do you conduct interviews with prospective buyers to ensure that your puppies only go to the best homes?
- Are your puppies socialized and do they start training on a wee-wee pad (or something of that nature) before they leave?
- At what age are puppies allowed to be sold/leave your home?
- How big do your Yorkies get full grown, on average?
- How many times do you breed your female dogs per year (how many litters per year)?
- How much do puppies (male/female) usually cost?
- Have you done genetic testing on the dam and sire? Do you have a health guarantee for purchased puppies?
- Do you have a contract (with buyers)?

Hope that helps!
Also, a someone here recommended
www.worldkennelusa.com to me (she got her puppy from there). The breeder has puppies available right now in LA. I talked the breeder on the phone and she is very nice, I'd drop her a line and check her out.
