So glad your little one is better. My Lacey shakes when she is frightened or sick. I'm sure the ears are the reason for the smell. You could take a warm cloth and gently wipe his face, not enough to wet a lot, but be sure to then wrap in a warm blanket and I'd hold him. You could put the cloth in the dryer for a minute or two. Don't go into the ears, just gently on the outside. I always have success with boiled chicken and white rice when mine are sick. I always keep Nutical on hand as well. I cannot imagine your area not having a good vet. Mine gave me her cell number in case I need her after hours! Oh, and don't reuse the same cloth area, I rinse, rewet and fold one over and over.
