ERRRRR! People are so annoying sometimes. But then again I guess some people truly just DON'T KNOW. The AKC standard says that a Yorkshire Terrier must not exceed 7 lbs. There is no "teacup" weighing between 2 and 3 lbs, or 4 lbs and under (I've heard both ) and the "big" Yorkies don't have any "special" classification either. The standard is just the standard, and it's been that way for a LONG time. If someone has a 2-3 lb Yorkie, they just have a small Yorkie. If someone has a 10 lb Yorkie, they have a bigger Yorkie....there's nothing more "special" about either one of them and they do not get their own classification.

Also, whoever told you that obviously knows nothing about either breed. Yorkie's and Silky's are not the same breed of dog, nor are they in the same family.
