Well, speaking from my own experience, just be prepared to hear about it later if and when he does throw it back in your face that you bought the dog without his permission if he doesn't want to get it. I have that problem too. I bought Lily without my husband's consent and he to this day will do that to me. I just don't like the 'hot, cold' thing with him: If she's good, he loves her. If she's bad, she's MY dog.
