Default Scary day for me and Max

I didn't even write about this yesterday because I was a little freaked out.
I decided to wash my kitchen curtains and when I went to put them back up, I noticed that I have a glass ornament hanging on an antique hook by the window. I thought to myself that I really am not crazy about it and should throw it out. Why I don't listen to my own instincts sometimes is beyond me!

Of course, Max is my little assistant, and of course, the curtain rod knocked the glass ornament down. It shattered, Max grabbed a piece, I dropped the curtains, rods, etc.,jumped off the ladder and ran after Max. I stuck my finger, long nail and all, into his mouth, all around and then into his throat, just in case he already swallowed a chunk of glass. I felt something and started fishing around in there. It was a fold of skin - I was so far down there that I'm surprised I didn't perform a tonsillectomy on him. He finally bit my finger, poor little guy. I searched all around the hallway, didn't find any shards, cleaned up all of the glass in the kitchen, hung up the curtains, and decided that's quite enough housework for one day. I had already done some other things and he has gotten hold of the strangest things this week. He found a nail the day before!

I was sitting sat the computer about an hour later, at YT, and heard him chewing on something unfamiliar. Sure enough, it was a huge piece of the ornament. Back down the throat with my fingers. Thank God, he hadn't swallowed any of it. About 20 minutes later, I heard another strange noise. He had found a plastic lens from a pair of glasses that he had chewed on
months ago. I don't know where that lens had been. Back into the mouth with my fingers.

Poor Max. He slept for about 3 hours after the third time my fingers were down his little throat. He's fine now. My cleaning woman was here 2 days ago and she must have done a really good job, dislodging nails, eyeglass lenses, and I hope nothing else, when she was vacuuming. I have to tell her to please lighten up.

I actually laid down on the coach rhe whole rest of the evening, I was so upset.

Thanks for letting me vent, and don't vacuum every single corner. Leave things nicely hidden, where they belong!
