Joey doesn't chew his food either but there are things you can do to slow their eating down while serving the dual purpose of mental stimulation.

Scattering their food works well. You can make it easy by scattering it on the kitchen floor. Or, scattering it in your yard creates more of challange. Another idea is using a food-dispensing toy like the Molecube that they have to roll around to get the food.
