I have asthma & severe allergies. I did notice even though the dogs I have chosen do not shed, the more I have gotten I am having a little more problems. I can't touch them & bring my hands to my eyes without them swelling up & getting red. I bought stock in Visine A. I do wash my hands a lot after handeling & cuddling with them. My breathing is about the same, except after bathing. I bath all 3 once a week & take them to the groomers every 8 weeks. If I clean their pads inbetween I have had to use my inhailer.
I love then so much, a little problems don't seem so bad. I am deathly allergic to cats or large dogs that shed. Last time I took care of my sisters cats in her home, I ended up in the ER. So I avoid homes with other animals.
P.S. I didn't mention that the groomer can't use perfumed sprays or smelly shampoos. That was affecting me also. Use gentle shampoos with no smells, it helps.
