yes, and with a true blockage, he'll stop pooing altogether and possibly even throw up.

Don't worry too much. Dogs have been eating rawhide for ages and it is relatively rare that a blockage happens. (of course, ONE time is once too many) It's good to keep an eye on him, but don't let yourself panic unless you see signs of a problem.
