I know exactly how you feel! My boyfriend and I had a cat when we were looking for apartments. I was hell-bent on getting a yorkie and would only consider apartments that allowed dogs, much less our cat. We seriously looked for probably 4 months until we lucked out with our apartment. Most people wouldn't even allow a cat. This angers me so much, because the bad pet owners ruin it for the rest of us. I am a very responsible pet owner and take good care of my home, but there's always those people that would just assume let the dog or cat go to the bathroom on the floor than make the effort to potty train or take them outside to go.

My boyfriend and I still laugh about this one... we called about an apartment above a pet store. The man that owned the pet store owned the building. The first words out of his mouth were "no pets!" [followed by "no smoking, no drugs, no parties, no frequent visitors". Not that I smoke or do drugs, but I think he wanted us to pay the rent, but actually live elsewhere!] No pets above a pet store! I get the biggest kick out of that one! Was he afraid of the noise?! We didn't actually want that apartment, but thought whomever owned it would surely allow pets. Assume nothing, I guess!!

Keep the faith- something will come up. We lucked out- when I had had it with the whole apartment searching we got the most amazing apartment for far cheaper than most of the apartments we'd looked at. Good luck!
