It's a lotion, actually more like a gel and it's brown so you can tell where you put it. I exfoliate and put a moisturizer on my elbows, knees, feet and ankles (the places which tend to exhorb more before application. I use thin gloves for application even though it's not recommended. This isn't to be used on your face, I use it up to my chin and then use the Faux Tan make up they made to match everything up. Until this year I've been a tanning bed regular and have freckles I didn't have before and also a few extra wrinkles. So this is my new resolution
