Well...coming from a mommy who cursed her furbaby with a name that will mispronounced for the rest of her life...I say spell it however you want! In my case, if I didn't spell Sukoshi's name like that (pronounced Sko-she, with a long o and long e), I couldn't really say it was Japanese for "little bit" because it would have no longer been a Japanese word. But, had I spelled it Skoshie or something, at least people would have pronounced it right! Oh well...we're happy with the actual Japanese spelling, and we'll just forever correct people on how they say it. I think you'd be fine with Nico or Neeko either one.
