I'm sure it is not catchy. At one time I had two yorkies a miniature and a standard. My little Jazzy did have skin problems but Charlie the standard size didn't have any problems at all with his skin. His hair was very thick and Jazzy's was very fine - perhaps this has something to do with it?
Let us know what the vet said please.
