My Jo-Jo used to pull them out of the ground like a Robin on a daily basis and they never hurt him. I pulled so many from his tiny mouth (squishy and gross!) but I finally gave up. I don't think they affected him in any way...he's a little goofy but I don't think that had anything to do with the worms!
