 Microbacterial skin infection?
ok, 2 day ago i noticed that snuggles had a hot spot on her innner thigh and was rather itchy in her tail, so i used Sulfodene, ive used that on her before and works well.The next nite i saw her biting herself really bad and when i looked she had a whole bunch of lil sores, so i took the clippers and shaved the whole area. she was biting the skin off the tip of her tail. last nite, she layed on a quilt in my room and started crying really bad( she doesnt cry for anything, not even if acidently step on her)i took her to the er and the dr last nite was a intern. so he tells me that it MAY be a microbacterial skin infection. Im like WTF, how could she have gotten that whatever it is. i havent changed anything of hers. we been on the same food for a couple of months now and also making homemade food, i use very plan stuff too, simple rice and chicken, her rregular veggies and this came out of nowhere. i Dont walk her in the summer too much, shes allergic to something in the bushes around my neighborhood. i dont understand how could she have this , and its not even certain, hes like maybe its that. he gave me 5 pills cut in halves to give her for ten days and a very expensive shapoo, an 8 oz bottle of Cortisoothe, that left her hair brittle, she now has developed more of these sores that look like little abcesses. she very uncomfortable and peed all over herslef laying down. I was gonna do the treatment for a few day and take her to my regular vet. or should i just take her to another vet asap?, can i put anything on top of it to soothe the area?.
