Line breeding is something that is done in order to lock in a particular trait in a particular blood line. It is usually done with at least 1 generation apart. Inbreeding is where you take a brother and a sister on the same level of the family tree and you breed them together. I don't recall anywhere where this is useful at all in improving the breed, but I could be wrong. (My knowledge comes from chinchilla breeding...I believe it to be the same in all species.)
