I have never used a pee pad however Buddy was 14wks when I brought him home and has been trained to potty outdoors only. I went home from work
everyday for six weeks. I work 8hrs a day and gone for 9hrs. Left him in
his crate, went home at 12:00 let him out, out again at 5:30, 7:00 after dinner, 9:30 and in crate for night. No accidents out again at 6:00am, breakfast out again at 8:00am off to work and home at 12:00.
He never had an accident in the create however if out of create I made
sure he went out every two hours or before if I saw him drink water. He had
a couple accidents but soon caught on.
No water in the create or you will never train him. By 5mos he was completely trained. Then out of the create, gate up in kitchen .
By 5 or 6 months they have control over their bladder and can then hold
it much longer. Vet told me I made Buddy have an iron bladder by training
him that way. Because at times he had to hold it.
Good luck stay persistant, persistance is what does it. You can't do it one day and not the next. They are very smart and catch on fast. |
