I guess a pet sold is less expensive than a probable breeder/show quality is --how I understood the discussion. If this is the assumption, say a pet quality sells for $950 and a "probable" sells for $2000 (making up numbers we're having a discussion):


What would you do if you were the breeder--remember the buyer isn't asking.

You could do nothing--buyer isn't asking.

Refund the difference minus half the cost of the spay.

Offer a substantial discount on female in another litter.

Or, your idea here.
