Unless you were planning to show her in a AKC event or to breed her it shouldn't matter what color she is.
But I totally understand where you are coming from. When I first got Jazzie, I was so wrapped up in her size and kept on waiting for her coat to change but she stayed black as coal and grew to be 10 pounds. Now I don't care and I love her dark coat! When we started to look for another puppy, I wanted one that had the most potential to stay dark like Jazzie.
I don't plan on showing or breeding, I just love them for loving me!
