I have had 2 singleton litters and both whelped fine, the last time on the x-ray the vet said that looks to be a big pup,she whelped fine no problems I think the little one was all stretched out in there of course he had a horn all to himself,my vet thought the same thing on the x-ray the pup looked big he was only 4ounces at birth. So it is possible all will be fine and if he comes or she comes last that is better also, mom has already been stretched out from the other two.
My little girl ate right up to whelping was eating watermelon and asparagus 3 hours before she whelped, she usually does not eat at all the day of whelping. They are all different and each gestation is different.
Just keep a good eye on her and your vet close.Things can happend fast and can also go slow.
My female had a c-section this time for 6 pups the last one was sideways we started at 7 pm and I had her home by 9:30,my vet did not want to keep her he told me you will watrch her better than me and I know her better so we came home. All was good you could not telll she had a c-section the next day by her behavior.
Good luck ladies and remember a watched yorkie does not whelp.LOL At least that is what I think sometimes!! Our temp this last time only dropped to 99..6. |
