Layla goes to a babysitter! when looking for one i wanted somewhere that i could bring her for the day because we live outside of the city and i knew no one would come to my house for the day. She charges 15 dollars a day (a steal i know!) and layla goes there about 4 times a month for the day. I bring my own food and she just hangs out at their house as if she is a part of the family. If i were to keep her overnight there i would just need to bring my crate for her. They go for walks (her babysitter has a lab, a labradoodle and a lab granddaughter
) and layla has a blast.. comes home VERY tired!! maybe this is somethign you could offer to smaller breeds...
