Consistency is the key to training. My husband was home more often when we got our yorkie a few days before christmas, so he became the trainer, he learned to trust him and listen to him, so I credit my husband with Vinnie's potty training success, don't get me wrong, we still have the occasional accident, but overall, he's got it at 6 months and we're very proud. Now he runs to his daddy whenever he uses the pad, or sometimes goes to get his daddy so he'll go to the pad with him. I've even read that as a couple you should choose one person to be the trainer, and it worked for us. It is your dog, not his mom's, i agree with that, you don't want to end up with his mom earning the trust and respect first!
