How long do you keep your Yorkie's topknot? Sadie's is long enough to double up, but it gets all tangled and does not look good for long.

Does it look good to just keep it appx. 2-1/2 inches long? She would probably look like those troll dolls that were out years ago (OK, I know I am dating myself), but I am desperate for ideas. I really don't want to just cut it off.
