My 2 1/2 year old, 5 1/2 lb, female yorkie has a limp on the right rear leg.

How dangerous and how successful are hip operations on yorkies? I know the vet will say they are OK, but I would like to hear about actual experiences of others.

Also, what is the approximate cost for hip surgery?

I know of humans who complain of being worse off after surgeries and am concerned about someone who can't talk to tell me of any problems.
