I've never traveled (I have an eight year old), but it's something I've always been interested in. I have several friends that have traveled and they LOVED it! Plus the money is really good, so you can either save up a lot of money or take a lot of time off, still maintaining the income you are used to...just a lot of flexibility.

If you are happy where you are, though, I'd be leary of changing jobs based on a rumor. You know how healthcare jobs are...gossip, gossip, gossip. If they are losing so many nurses, I bet they might be willing to do what they need to retain you. I manage an ER and right now we are doing everything we can do to ensure nurse retention. Talk to someone before you make a drastic change based on rumor. Unless you just itching to go travel...then I say BON VOYAGE!!!
