Summerlin is only allowed to have certain foods from our table... I am very particular about what she gets. However, when we start to eat, she will come in there and want some, but if I say no, she will go away. I guess she has just learned that she doesn't always get a bite - and that's literally all she gets when she does get something - a bite. I am scared to death that she will eat something she isn't supposed to and get sick. When we are at a restaurant (there are a few here with outdoor dining) she sits under the table patiently. If she asks for some food, and I think it is appropriate, she can have a small bite, but if not, then I just say no and she sits down to wait for us to finish. I guess you could say she is a beggar, but a well behaved one
