and just a warning, you shoud never purchase a yorkie before the age of 12 weeks. Yorkies and some other small breeds are not the same as a labrador, for example.
There are alot of people who get into the business of breeding yorkies, or any breed, souly for the purpose of making money. Breeding requires so much more then just getting two dogs together.
My first yorkie was sold to me at 8 weeks old and died shortly after by coughing on a treat. a 12 week old pup is much more confident in itself because it has had more time to learn 'how to be a dog' you can say. ask any good breeder, 6 or 8 weeks is just to soon.
my second yorkie I got when he was 6 months old and he was diagnosed with legg calve perthes disease a couple months later. which required a very expensive surgery.
It is worth the investment to purchase from a breeder who knows the lines they are breeding, this helps in knowing hereditary defects and diseases, if your pups ends up with one, which is actually pretty common with all the bad breeders out there, then you could end up thousands of dollars in debt.
the good thing is calfornia has puppy lemon laws and will flight for you in court for your money back for the price of the pup to go toward vet bills. but alot of heartache can be avoided if you just do your research and buy from a reputable breeder. |
