It sounds like she was having an anaphylactic reaction which starts with the facial swelling and then can lead to swelling of the tongue and throat. Humans can have this same type of reaction to certain allergens like bee stings. It's a severe, whole body allergic reaction and is considered a life-threatening emergency.
It's wonderful that you rushed her back to the vet's office - you probably saved her life!! |
