I'm breaking Max of table food for the past couple of weeks. Luckily, he doesn't bark or whine. He just looks at me with those puppy dog eyes. I take his food, take a piece out and pretend to eat some so that I'm eating first. Then I put it on the floor and make him sit first. He absolutely doesn't get "sit" so I gently push his little butt down. After that, he usually walks away so I put one french fry in little pieces in his bowl. He'll forget that he's not getting my food once he starts eating so usually he eats at least some of his food. If he doesn't eat, too bad. It's interesting that he has begun to eat more and more of his own food than he ever did so quickly.

I think the key is to totally ignore them when they beg and not to panic if they don't eat. He won't go a whole day without any food. Somebody told me two days is okay.
