I babysit Gordon's sister during the day. My son and his wife both work and are gone most of the day. I came up with the bright idea of helping them out and keeping Kacey and training her along with my Gordon.
I started when they were both 12 weeks old..
I tried to keep them both on the same feeding times, potty times, play , etc. but it wouldn't work. So I started crating one while feeding, training , etc the other one. That was the only way it would work for us.
Then when Gordon was around 3 months, I started him at Petsmart puppy classes. We took the Saturday class , and just Gordon, my grandson (6 years old) and I attended. Whatever commands Gordon started on Saturday, I would start Kasey on Monday when my son dropped her off.
They are both 5 1/2 months old, and they both do their commands together......such as sit, down, etc. Gordon, is still going to classes, and when he is showed a new command, then that Monday, I let him have a nap time in the mornings in his crate after play time and I start Kasey on it. Then when Kasey is in the crate for her nap.......I work with Gordon.
Once they both master the command, then I can give it and they both do it.
I don't think I could handle both of them in classes. Their personalities were so different before we started training. Gordon got distracted and that would be it, and Kasey was the wild child. Now Gordon focuses only on his commands and Kasey is a little Diva all the way.....she is like , whatever......I'll do it for a treat, if it doesn't mess up my hair.
I can now take them both shopping at their pet stores and they know their manners.......before, I would use a retrackable leash and let them be on one isle and me on the other......then they would have the nerve to lick me all over when I would be putting them in their car seats.
Good luck with whatever way you decided, and keep us posted.
