Sounds like you really are on the right track. And I agree Jasmine must think of the crate as a good place, some place safe and comfortable, so never use it as punishment. Do you put the crate close to your bed, where you can actually stick your fingers in to quiet her if she cries? If not, that might help, so you don't have to actually get out of bed every time. Putting things in there that smell like you or your wife is also a great idea. But patience is the key, don't feel overwhelmed...it shouldn't take but a few nights for her to understand...it's sleep time, not play time.
