I have two yorkies. My first,Chloe, was a year old when I was asked to take Maddi (a year old also.) The owner could not train her. I must say in the beginning, they did not like each other at all. They barked at each other for about 2 hours the first time they met.
I did separate them when I went to work because I thought they might hurt each other. In time, they learned that they were both here to stay and finally accepted each other.
Maddi was trained by Chloe. We would go for a walk together, Chloe would pee and Maddi would pee on top of Chloe's pee. She still does it today, 5 years later. She will search the yard if Chloe goes our first until she finds the scent and then pees on top of it. They get along great, but no one gets a kiss, a pet, or a hug without the other one getting one too. I LOVE them both so much.. Good luck.
