Did she have to go potty everytime you took her out? She may just want to be up and about with you
You'll eventually learn her cry for "I really gotta go potty" and "Hey, I wanna play!" I put an old t-shirt of mine in the crate and that helped keep mine quieter longer. When she cried in the middle of the night I just stuck my fingers in the cage door and she laid against them and fell back asleep. I could tell when she really had to potty cause she would start squirming and making a different cry. Hope that helps a little bit
