I tried sticking her in her crate during the day and she just freaks out and carries on. I had her in there for about 2 hours until she stopped whinning and then I took her out. However after that she is all worked up and it takes her sometime to claim down.

I guess the only way to get her to sleep at night is to keep her close to us in her crate and then get up with her if need be?

wow.. two accidents!! you are doing something right!!! good job!!! but those first few nights are tough.. on everyone.. we've all been there.. her crate needs to be VERY small... back the back with towels so she only has room to lay down... that's it... take her out before you go to bed... and in the crate... i'd say if she cries longer than 30 min.. out again (making as little fuss as possible.. this is NOT play time and you don't want to reward her for crying) give her 5 min to do her thing.. if she does.. you gotta give SOOO much praise and back to bed... if she doens't.. she was just testing you and don't let her out of her crate she will cry until she gives up.. but make sure she can see you.. i put layla in a crate on a small table next to my bed.. she would see me sleeping and got the hint that that was what we were doing.. make sure she is close enough that you can hear her little cry at night when she tells you she has to go out.. and follow like the first time.. good luck... been there.. and glad it is over SO glad you are giving her the kitchen.. i really think it will go SO much better.. make sure there are no toys in there that she can choke on or eat the stuffing or so on.. i think Kong toys are great.. you can stuff them with treats.. will keep her busy for a while and keep her from getting bored

and again.. can we see pictures of this cutie please
