Default Another Simba's Pride Story

This thread confirms what I have suspected since we bought our one-year-old Yorkie from Simba's Pride in December 2006: we rescued our dog for $700.

Days after we brought Fergie home, she was described by the vet as "undernourished" (less than 4 lbs). She also had open sores around her neck that the doctor attributed to fleas. Thankfully, her health was otherwise fine -- although her demeanor, we learned, was far from it.

Fergie's disposition was identical to the previous post: "no social skills with people; horrible separation anxiety; and extremely fearful of men." She ran away from us constantly for the first two months and would regularly bark at my husband. She wouldn't play with us or her toys. She defecated everywhere. We also believed she had been abused or neglected.

After five months of very dedicated work with her, she is now about 95% housebroken and has finally warmed to my husband. While she is still very timid around strangers (men, in particular), her weight is up as are her spirits. She is developing into a very sweet, loyal companion.

My advice: shop around.
