According to the AKC. Standards all Yorkies wear a bow or "Topnot" it is considered normal regardless of their Sex, male or female?
My male Artie, wears masculine colored clothing, bows and clips......I would never put a dress on him or anything "Pink"! That color is reserved for both of my females, w/c by the way do not wear any bows/barettes b/c they do not have the same quality of hair as my male, he is definetely more impressive! And for some reason (Breeding & Genetics/Hereditary) their hair does'nt grow as fast or thick enough! They look like they have a "Puppy cut".......So if you got it, you should flaunt it. Oh yeah, and my BF. walks them too! Pink Dresses and bows and all and both my Males are secure enough with their "Masculinity" to do it and walk tall and proud, when they do! Besides if I didn't he wouldn't be able to see, he would be knocking stuff over and walking into doorways. So it does serve a practical purpose, besides for "Looks"! Tell your BF. to get over it?
