I use Nutrisystem. It is also pre-packaged food. It starts out with a $300 cost but you get at least one and sometimes 2 free weeks of food. You can also use a Buddy Bucks coupon (I can send you one -- it is where you get $30 off your order and when you use it they send me a coupon for $30 off too). So, that helps a bit too. Going on automatic delivery saves more $$. After the 3rd order you get 15% off. Next month, I will probably go to the 5 day a week plan and have regular food on weekends. So, there are lots of ways to save money and still do these programs.
I LOVE Nutrisystem! I have lost 32 pounds with the NS alone and had already lost 10 pounds before starting (using my old weight watcher's point system materials from home). NS is infinately easier as the meals are already there for you. If we go out, I usually just get a salad and either eat a NS entree before or after. If the guys have fast food, I just skip it and eat my own meals. I think about what I am saving every time they eat out -- that savings cuts from the actual cost of NS too. I figured I ate out at least $50-$100 a month, depending on how many times we went somewhere really nice and $$$.
I also got to stop taking my metformin as my blood sugar came down naturally with weight loss and good nutrition. I was supposed to start back on cholesterol-lowering meds when I decided to do something about my weight. Those numbers are now good too. So, I am saving a lot in meds! I figure I have added YEARS to my life by getting rid of some of the tonage that was stressing my heart and other organs. That savings is ....well ... as the old M/C commercial would say ..... PRICELESS!
No matter what plan you decide to use, best of luck to you! |
