Just bumping this up for you. I hope you get the information that you need!! Definitely homecooked is better, you just have to make sure that he's getting all the nutrients that he needs. I got this book recently called "Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats", and it is awesome!! I just did a quick search for you to see what it says about chronic pancreatitis and it has a lot of useful information. It includes some diets that would be safe and also prevention, and treatments of chronic pancreatitis. This book is a wonderful investment. I got it on amazon.com for super cheap. I think maybe $12.00.
A couple of things it emphasizes: Small, frequent meals are much easier on them than one or two regular or large meals. Also, feeding at rooms temperature and decreasing the amount of fatty foods make it easier for digestion. It has a bunch of other information, it's just a lot to list on here. There must be some books out there regarding this. I hope someone has some good answers for you!!
