I switch to a puppy kibble while pregnant and only supplement afterward (still feeding puppy kibble as a base food). Too much calcium is not good for the pups while Mamma is pregnant. A scrambled egg (no butter or seasoning) is good once a week (although that goes for non-pregnant also). I never feed canned food. You know your female more than anyone. You'll will know when she is being drawn from and needs supplemented. There is an awesome "post whelping recipe" on here if you use the search engine. I even give this as a small treat once I have a batch mixed up for my other Yorkies...they all LOVE it!
