My vet and lthers that I have asked all seem to agree that best to supppliment when momis nursing. I feed good quality puppy food while the bitch is pregnant and suppliment with cottage cheese and vitamins while nursing. My Roxie still got eclampsia when the pups were 3 weeks old but the vet said it would have been much worse if I had given calcium during pregnancy. We're now supplimenting the pups and all are doing well.
