This is my first puppy and he is 2 months old. For some amazing reason, when he had to pee he automatically knew to pee on the pee pad w/o us showing or telling him how. I thought that was great! However, he will not poop on the pads. Once we let him out of the fenced in bathroom area to play, he will get to the carpet and poop instead of pooping on the pee pad. Once he does this, we tell him NO and put him on the pad-but of course, it's too late since he has already pooped. My friend who also has a dog (non-yorkie) told me that dogs will not pee and poop in the same area. Is that true? Since then, my fiance takes him outside and he poops there. I, however, don't really want him outside-i want him to be trained to use pee pads so that in the future we can leave him home and not worry about rushing home to take him out. Can anyone help?
