I think it all depends on the dog. I have a picky eater that I realized that if I limit the food, she becomes less picky and eats regularly. I used to give her more than she needs. She ends up not eating one of the meal or not eating at all for 2 days. I try to ration and limit her food by giving her limited amount of food (total around 1/2 cup of kibbles). She eats more regularly.
