My yorkie, Otis, LOVES to go bye-bye, I struggle to keep him in his carseat. He wants to be in my lap with paws on steering wheel. When I first got Oliver, my shih-poo, he would never voluntarily jump in the car, but seemed excited to go because OTis was excited to go. He would sit in his carseat and not move. I just thought he was a good boy, very well behaved. Well, the first time I took him to work with me, it's a 45 minute drive, longer than he had ever been on. He puked as I was pulling into my parking space. So, I figured it out. He wasn't being "well behaved", he was too terrified to move, and probably a little queasy. We stick with short trips now. I have one that LOVES to go, but misbehaves in the car. And one that isn't fond of it, but behaves like a good boy as he's fighting back the nausea.
