I was a freshman in HS the first time I found out I was going to be an Aunt. I cried when he was born and he was spoiled rotten. I bought him a tricycle on his 1st Christmas and he was only 5 mos old
Then when my niece was born... oh, I really cried. I wanted a girl that I could spoil ROTTEN and cry for me. Well thats exactly what I got! She would cry when I would walk out of the room until she was about 5! Then she just kinda whined around lol. She is 14 now and still connected to my side!
My girls are the closest things that I have to kids and I adore them. They always tell me they dont call me Aunt because Im to much like their Mom.
I get to teach them all the fun stuff that Mom and Dad cant! LOL
