it's really easy and such a nice gift.. yes cut notches.. the skinnier they are the easier to tie.. and be sure to not make them too short... and don't cut right to the edge... cut around the corner .. you know?? lol... it's hard to explain.. just be sure you don't cut RIGHt to the edge because then you'll turn the corner and be left with this werid square on the end... good luck and lets' see it when you are done!!
