When I took Cookie for his first vet appt. they did not check or scan him.The same thing happened when I took Mimi. Honestly I think 90% of the vets will NOT remember to scan a pet that comes in for a first time visit. I personally think it will only come in handy if your dog is taken to a shelter.I would not hesitate staying up the whole night printing several hundred flyers and put them up as soon as possible that next morning.I would also take the flyers to any shelters near my area. And mail out flyers to shelters at least within a 200 mile radius of my home. Just thinking about it breaks my heart.I like my vet but I do NOT like some of the staff that works for him. Alot of them are "big dog lovers" So when they look at me walking in with this little thing , I usually get a giggle ,not a "aww how cute" but more like " that's not a dog!" Theonly convenience I have is that they are like 2 miles from my house and it takes me 3-4 minutes to get there. So I am still looking for a vet that specializes in smallbreeds. I know I've seen one in my town before.
