Yes, it is normal or I should say that many dogs eat grass. The opinions as to why are varied among professionals but I've definitely heard it said that when dogs have an upset tummy they eat the grass and often it makes the dog throw up. I've had it happen many times with my guys, they go out, eat the grass and then a short time later they are yaking it up? I don't think there is any harm as long as no chemicals are on the grass.
