| microchip question My local humane society is offering a clinic this weekend where they will offer microchipping for $10. I would like to get my babies microchipped because we take them everywhere with us and if anything should ever happen that one of them would get separated from us- this would be another way to identify them if they would lose their identification tag. My quesiton is this- I was always thought that this was a procedure that was done while the pet was asleep. Since this is a clinic- that will not be the case. Will it be extremely painful or will it cause about the same discomfort as a shot?
Where is the microchipped placed at on the dog? I have never had a pet microchipped before, so I am not sure how big the chip is or where it is placed. Any information you can offer would be very helpful.
Thanks! |
