My kitten had ringworm. It caused intense itching and loss of fur in a circular area. It required a month of treatment to get rid of it. Then I thought it came back but it turned out to be flea allergy dermatitis. Either way, it was accompanied with loss of fur/hair. I tend to agree with the others in that it might have been a bug bite or a pimple.
