My beautiful area rugs are all in the closet. The only reason the rest of the house is still carpeted is because it's wall to wall If I take it up, it would be expensive, I'd have to redo the floors and and I'd like to move soon.
According to a couple of professional carpet cleaners I called, there is no way
to stop them from peeing and once they do pee on the rug, you really can't get the smell out 100%.
Sorry to sound so negative, but it is what it is.
